How your chart is calculated

Your Four Pillars are built from the solar calendar, not the zodiac year. The engine computes the 24 solar terms — including Lichun (立春), the true start of the BaZi year — to the second, and corrects for true solar time from your birthplace longitude when you ask it to.

Hidden stems and the Ten Gods are derived from Zi Ping tables that we generate from first principles rather than copy, because older printed tables are prone to propagation errors. Day pillars are checked against known reference dates. The practical result: two correct calculators, given the same birth data and school settings, will always agree on the chart.

What we verify, and what we flag

We separate what is settled from what is disputed, and we tell you which is which. The Heavenly Nobleman (天乙贵人) star, for example, is verified against primary classical texts including the Sanming Tonghui (三命通会); other symbolic stars are standard but not independently re-verified, and the chart marks them as such.

Where classical schools genuinely disagree — the Zi-hour day boundary, the 庚 nobleman placement, luck-cycle granularity — we expose the choice as an option instead of quietly hard-coding one opinion.

About the reading

When you generate a reading, the AI receives only the engine's structured output as its source of facts, with an explicit instruction never to recompute or invent chart details. It writes warmly and practically, hedges anything the engine marks as a follower or dominant "candidate" structure, and avoids fatalism.
